Hong Kong, June 27, 2025 – Chimbusco Pan Nation (CPN)
proudly announces the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the
Transport and Logistics Bureau (TLB) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative
Region (HKSAR) Government. This landmark agreement, formalized during the
Mainland-Hong Kong Green Energy Matchmaking Event on June 25, 2025, marks a
significant step toward establishing Hong Kong as a global hub for green marine
fuel bunkering and trading.
The MOU underscores CPN’s and the HKSAR Government’s shared
commitment to advancing a sustainable maritime industry through the development
and adoption of green marine fuels. Aligned with the HKSAR’s Action Plan on
Green Maritime Fuel Bunkering, launched in November 2024, this partnership
leverages Hong Kong’s position as a global maritime and financial centre to
build a robust green marine fuel bunkering supply chain, integrating the
Mainland’s production capabilities with Hong Kong’s international trading
gateway.
As Hong Kong’s leading physical bunker supplier and a global
leader in marine fuel solutions, CPN is dedicated to expanding the diversity
and supply capacity of alternative marine fuels. Beyond its advancements in
biofuels, CPN is pioneering the use of methanol as a sustainable bunkering
fuel. Building on its MOU with The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited
(Towngas) in November 2024, this agreement with the TLB reinforces CPN’s
leadership in driving the maritime industry toward the IMO net-zero emissions
target.
Mr. Calvin Chung, Director & Deputy General Manager of
CPN, shared his excitement: "We are deeply grateful to the TLB for their trust in choosing CPN as a
partner to advance a greener Hong Kong. This MOU with the TLB is a game-changer
for Hong Kong’s ambition to become a global green bunkering hub. We’re proud to
lead the charge in sustainable marine fuel solutions, and this partnership is a
bold step toward a cleaner, greener future."
The Mainland-Hong Kong Green Energy Matchmaking Event,
co-organized by the TLB and the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province,
brought together over 300 representatives from Hong Kong and Mainland
enterprises to foster collaborations in green maritime fuel supply chains.
Alongside CPN, other industry partners signed MOUs with the TLB to advance Hong
Kong’s green fuel ambitions. The event showcased Hong Kong’s strengths as the
top bunkering centre in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the
seventh largest globally, solidifying its role as a gateway for exporting
high-quality green fuels worldwide.
CPN remains steadfast in its mission to lead the transition to sustainable marine energy. Through strategic collaborations with the HKSAR Government and other industry partners, CPN is driving Hong Kong’s transformation into a world-class green marine fuel hub, paving the way for a sustainable and growing maritime future.
